Commercial Fire Alarm Upgrades from Honeywell
Good news for anyone interested in fire alarm monitoring: Honeywell, long-time maker of high-quality fire alarms, has recently upgraded the communications technology for their fire alarm systems, opting to go full digital. Making the switch to their new digital system is easy and doesn’t require any expensive changes to your building – you just need to install a new component, called the IPGSM-4G, onto your existing fire alarm panel.

Wireless Fire Alarm Monitoring
Honeywell’s new communications system is compatible with nearly all brands of fire alarm, and can be installed easily onto your existing panel by connecting to the digital alarm communications transmitter (DACT).
With the IPGSM-4G installed, you can program your fire alarm monitoring system to use whatever communications method you choose, including:
- Cellular as primary only
- Internet Protocol (IP) as primary only
- IP as primary and cellular as a backup
The system doesn’t even require access to a 4G network in order to work properly. It can locate any signal, including 4G, 3G, 2G, and even wifi. The system adjusts itself automatically based on the best signal in the area, ensuring your alarm signal is uninterrupted during an emergency.
